Lance Restum announces his candidacy for the next Arkansas Land Commissioner

January 7, 2025

Lance Restum annouced his candidacy for the next Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands at noon in the historic Old Supreme Court room inside the Arkansas Capitol building. Lance lives in Benton with his wife and two beautiful daughters. He is an Arkansas icon as he is the face and voice of the Arkansas Travelers baseball team. He has grown to love this state's vast resources in his passion for outdoor activities like fishing and duck hunting.

Lance's grandfather worked at the Alcoa factory in Bauxite until he retired and his mom’s father started an electrical company called Middlebrooks Electric in 1946 in Benton that his uncles still run today. Though Lance didn’t go to school here, his Arkansas roots run deep. Summers were full of fishing on Lake Hamilton and riding three wheelers in clay pits, camping in Mt. Ida and floating the Buffalo River. "Arkansas is an amazing state full of amazing people and I love it!"

Lance sees the opportunity to increase land development while protecting our state's greatest and most precious resource, land. "’I've been blessed to have a rewarding and successful career helping and serving the community here in Arkansas. Now is the time for me and our generation to stand up, take responsibility, and serve the people of Arkansas." said Restum.

Lance Restum is running to become the 27th Arkansas Commissioner of State Lands.
